For the first after 7 years, a second before the new year 2006 will be 61 seconds! The scientists decide to do the timing tweak meant to make up for changes in the Earth’s rotation.

The adjustment will be carried out by sticking an extra second into atomic clocks worldwide at the stroke of midnight Coordinated Universal Time, the widely adopted international standard, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology said this week.


Well guys, you can enjoy this time new year eve a second longer. But i dont know how many people know about this, and i’m afraid the earth people will feel weird when they see the countdown clock is ticking until 23:59:60, before start back at zero.
